Haus Kammern is at the heart of a winter wonderland and offers a full range of winter activities. Take in a brief taste of what's on offer.
Skiing and Snowboarding
You have a choice of magical ski areas right on the doorstep. The Panoramabahn gondola takes you right into the ‘jewel-in-the-crown’ of Alpine skiing — the Kitbüheler Alpen. From the top there is 160km of piste in front of you and good skiers and snowboarders can make it all the way to Kitzbühel town in about 2 hours — a great place for lunch! Advanced skiers will relish the numerous off-piste opportunities. The Panoramabahn base station is just 5 minutes away by car from the house (ample free parking) or take the free ski-bus. The ski-school meeting point is at the top of the gondola where all standards are well-catered for. For family-friendly skiing and boarding head for the brand new Smaragdbahn gondola station at Bramberg — you can see the gondola in the distance from the house. The gondola takes you right up to 2100m from where you can enjoy 55km of well-prepared piste. Again, the gondola base station is just 5 minutes by car (lots of free parking available) or take the free ski bus which stops in the village square just 70 metres away. Buy a Salzburg Super Ski Pass to enjoy both ski areas and many more.
Cross Country Skiing
An activity you can suit to your energy levels. The Pinzgau cross-country trail lies right at your doorstep and runs for miles from Krimml through Dorf im Pinzgau and all the way to Zell am See in the most amazing National Park scenery.
A great way to get up close to nature in winter. Available twice a week. Ask at the tourist office in Bramberg for details.
Bramberg boasts the longest toboggan run in Europe at 14km! Hire the toboggans at the lift station and join in the fun. The run is floodlit and the Smaragdbahn gondola runs late on Thursdays and Fridays. Afterwards why not enjoy some après-ski or a tasty meal in the Fliegerbichl Bar & Restaurant at the bottom of the run.
There are ice rinks in Bramberg and Neukirchen. Both are free and floodlit.
Try the Austrian version of curling. The goal of this sport is to get your ‘ice stock’ as close as possible to a target, known as the ‘Daube’.
A great way to get amongst the snow and enjoy the magic of winter. All you hear is the snorting of the horses, the jingling of bells, the voice of the coachman. A memorable experience for children and adults in a family-friendly winter paradise. Ask at the tourist office in Bramberg or Neukirchen for details.
Launch from the Wildkogel and explore the peaks and glorious winter scenery from the perspective of an eagle. In the crystal-clear fresh air you will enjoy the finest paragliding adventure imaginable. For beginners, a tandem flight promises a truly unique experience. Make arrangements at the Fliegerbichl Bar & Restaurant in Bramberg (at the foot of the piste).
